So, because I said that any other book by Sarah Dessen is equally as good, if not better than What Happened to Goodbye, I'm going to review another one.
This book is my favorite Dessen novel and is so powerful and great. It's about a girl, the youngest of 3 girls, named Annabel Greene. Annabel enters into a new year of high school with no friends and a considerable amount of enemies. She's a model, but she wants to quit, she's alone, but she doesn't want to be, and through her endeavors she meets the rather frightening (sometimes) Owen Armstrong. He's intense and in to music, but is also very kind and straightforward. It's a great story with some elements that are very interesting to read and get into. I guarantee you'll love it!
The reason I love it is because of the musical element, yes, but also, I love the flashbacks that Dessen inserts as elements of the story and vessels of plot development. I love them, and the developement of those flashbacks beforehand just adds to the building of them before they appear. Truly wonderful author:)
So, pick it up, you won't regret it! I promise, scout's honor. (Just letting you know, I was never a girl scout, so that means virtually nothing. How about...blogger's honor.)
Teaser Quote: "All I'd ever wanted was to forget. but even when I thought I had, pieces had kept emerging, like bits of wood floating up to the surface that only hint at the shipwreck below."~Annabel Greene
