"Books are the perfect entertainment: no commercials, no batteries, hours of enjoyment for each dollar spent. What I wonder is why everybody doesn't carry a book around for those inevitable dead spots in life."~Stephen King

This basically sums up the point of this blog. Book reviews. Everyone should carry a book, so why not a good one?

The Chosen by Chaim Potok

So, I read this book for my Modern Fiction class, and because Anna Karenina is taking me a very, very long time (that's 19th century Russian authors for you, folks), I decided that ya'll needed a review from me.
The story consists of a Jewish boy coming of age in WWII New York.  It's a super interesting story and easy to follow.  The characters and developement is rich, and I hear there's a sequel, so maybe I'll read it!  Those who read Hemingway, look for some references to A Farewell to Arms, because they're in there!
It's a great story, and unfortunately, I'm on the run, otherwise I'd totally write more!
